Shaughna Phillips has opened up about being a new mum as she candidly discussed having a "tough weekend" with her newborn daughter Lucia.
The former Love Island star, 29, shared a snap of herself hugging her daughter as she shared her fear of the future in a lengthy caption.
She began: "This weekend has been tough. Feel like my emotions have taken over again just as I was getting to grips with them. I’m jumping back into work this week and I’m already scared about juggling work life with trying to be the best mum, but I’m self employed, and I have to get back to work."
The new mum continued: "There’s times where the smallest thing will happen and I can’t help but feeling completely overwhelmed.
"And then I finish the day with a cuddle from my darling, and I suddenly feel like everything will be okay.
"Sharing these feelings just in case there’s any mamas out there feeling the same, one day at a time [white heart emoji]."
Fans and fellow new mums were quick to share their support, with many also commenting with their experiences of motherhood.
One wrote: "Being a mum is the hardest job you will have. Be easy on yourself. No mum is perfect….there's no manual..its a tough learning journey. I have an 8 year old and a 5 year old….still learning now xxx."
"First time mom to a one month old and I can totally relate. I’ve had insane anxiety and I’m so nervous to return to work cause I only want to spend time with my little one. I appreciate your posts so much [heart emoji] you make me feel like I can do this too" added another.
And a third shared: "I'm going back to work tomorrow and leaving my baby too for first time dreading it. We got this x"
It comes after Shaughna hit back at mum-shamers after she faced online trolling when she shared a photo of baby Lucia in the front seat of her car.
“Before the mum police come for me,” she wrote, before explaining the various safety precautions she took before the drive.
Despite this, she was still met with criticism and in response, she shared quote to her Instagram Story which read: "Let’s be nicer to each other, we are all trying out best."
She added: "I’m going to keep showing the ups and downs of mamahood. I feel like it’s more important that than me worrying about a few people being unable tor read the room.
"But seriously, just because you have an opinion, doesn’t mean I need to hear it. We are all trying our best."
