They’ve kept everyone guessing about their upcoming wedding and until recently they hadn’t even set a date. But we can exclusively reveal that Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman are aiming to tie the knot at home in September.
However, their planning is based on work on their new house being finished in time – and a source claims Lauren, 44, is stressing about getting everything ready, while 62-year-old Simon “isn’t in any rush” to tie the knot.
“They are trying to have the wedding in September, but that’s dependent on whether Lauren can have their new Cotswolds house completed in time – as this is where she wants to hold the wedding,” the source claimed.
“This is why Lauren is currently here in the UK while Simon is in LA. She’s trying to get the house finished. She’s feeling the pressure and is really stressed doing all the work and wedding planning on her own.”
With the house project overrunning, the source added that there’s a good chance the wedding will be postponed.
“September is not set in stone,” they said. “If the house isn’t completed they will push the wedding over to next year.”
OK! approached Simon's representative for comment.
Simon met Lauren – who has son Adam, 16, from a previous relationship – in 2013 and they had son Eric, eight, the following year.
Simon finally popped the question over Christmas.
Whenever and wherever the pair say “I do”, Simon’s fellow BGT judge David Walliams says it won’t be a modest affair.
“I don’t think it’d be Simon’s style to do a small wedding,” he said.
“His 50th was a big do and if I was Lauren, I’d want to have a big dress and glitzy, exciting party.”
But poor David doesn’t even know if he’s made the guest list yet.
He said: “I haven’t received an invitation and I think people have read that as I’m not invited – but I don’t think anyone is yet.
"I think only they know when and where it is going to be.”
Simon had not replied to a request for comment at the time we went to print.
