Stacey Dooley has candidly admitted she sometimes feels like she is "failing" as a mum to daughter Minnie as she opens up on the realities of motherhood.

The Strictly Come Dancing winner welcomed Minnie with Kevin Clifton, who she was partnered with on the BBC show in 2018, back in January.

But the 36-year-old has now opened up on the prospect of having more children with her dancer beau.

Speaking to The Sun, Stacey said: "Do you know what’s hilarious? You’re so tired and sometimes you really feel like you’re in the trenches, it’s a haze and you’re just trying to figure it all out.

"I think I would love to have more babies. But I said to Kev the other day, 'Don’t you want to do this again?' And he went, 'Are you nuts? You’re over-tired!'

"I don’t know how people have four children. I’ve had one and am completely failing."

However, Kevin last month exclusively told OK! that he and Stacey would love to welcome some siblings for their daughter.

He said: "Stacey’s already talking about Minnie needing a brother or a sister.

"I can see us having more kids if we’re lucky enough and it happens for us, but Minnie is a handful as it is at the moment!

"It’s the idea of them being a little gang and having each other’s backs. Me and my sister are a little gang and have each other’s backs – that’s what we’d like for Minnie."

Kevin is now taking a break from work to focus on being a full-time dad to Minnie after a gruelling schedule.

Speaking to Digital Spy in June, he explained: "It went Singin' in the Rain, Rock of Ages, The War of the Worlds, Burn the Floor, then I did The Games on ITV, Who Do You Think You Are? and then back to Singin' in the Rain on tour.

"Then I started rehearsals for Strictly Ballroom the day after I finished Singin' in the Rain. By the time I finish in mid-July it will have been a 10-month tour of Strictly Ballroom. So, since we came out of Covid it's just been back-to-back non-stop.

"So, for the rest of this year I've decided I'm going to take a break from all performing work just to be a dad.

"I just don't want to miss any of Minnie. So, yeah, my plan is to take a break as soon as this contract finishes."
