Stacey Solomon, 33, took to Instagram earlier today to respond to accusations she left her kids “to fend for themselves”. In view of her 5.4 million followers, the Loose Women star shared a direct message she had received from an online troll.

The criticism came after she joked she had left her skeleton Halloween decorations, which she named Phill and Grant, in charge of her four children.

Sharing a picture of one of the skeletons among other Halloween props, Stacey quipped that it had prepared breakfast for her family while she was away.

She typed: “Good morning. I was up & out in the darkness this morning before anyone woke up.

“I have been for the last few days so I’ve left Phill & Grant (the skeletons) in charge.”

The TV star continued: “Doing some creepy version of Halloween elf on the shelf to cheer the kids up while I’m not there.”

She went on: “Today Grant has organised the breakfast bowls & is waiting for everyone to come down for their cereal.”

In a follow up video, Stacey clarified her husband Joe Swash had been at home looking after the kids while she was away after receiving a message saying her previous post was “not a good look”.

The message, sent by an unknown social media user, read: “This is all fun and games or whatever but are you saying you just left all your kids this morning to fend for themselves?

“I don’t get it? Not a good look!”

In response, Stacey penned: “Some people crack me up so much.

“Don’t worry Phill and Grant have their NVQs and checks.

“(Obviously Joe is at home. I just like to do little things to remind them I still exist.”

The social media post comes after Stacey opened up about how she deals with four children at home while having a busy work schedule.

Speaking to Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe on their podcast Parenting Hell, Stacey jokingly admitted her eldest two sons are “like my childcare.”

Stacey shares two children with Joe and also has Zachary, 13, and Leighton, nine, from a previous relationship.

From his previous relationship with Emma Sophocleous, Joe shares son Harry, 13.

Heaping praise on her two “amazing” older boys Zac and Leighton, Stacey said: “They are amazing boys.

“Where there is that big age gap they will help me. So Zac will get Rex dressed, sometimes Leighton will get Rose dressed and they will help me get them all into the car.

“They are incredible kids to be fair. I am lucky with that.”

Stacey went on to joke: “ They are like my childcare! My live-in nanny.”
