Many productions have been affected by the writer’s strike and Stranger Things could be one of them!
Series creators, the Duffer Brothers, shared a statement, signaling that the upcoming start of filming on the fifth and final season may be delayed.
Production on the hit Netflix series was supposed to start up in June, but the writer’s strike, going into it’s second week, doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon.

“Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then — over and out. #wgastrong,” Matt and Ross Duffer shared, via the Stranger Things writers Twitter account.
There are currently several shows that are shut down due to the strike.
The current writers’ strike is the first walkout in over 15 years, and was caused after negotiations between the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) and studios stalled and broke down over fair wages in the streaming era.
