Strictly Come Dancing release trailer for new series
Strictly Come Dancing bosses have increased security in the run-up to this year’s competition.
Action was taken following complaints from two of the show’s professional female dancers.
Dianne Buswell and Nadiya Bychkova both had “overzealous” fans turn up at their homes.
Concern was also increased when last year’s winner, Jowita Przystal, received threats from fans of the show after she was linked to Giovanni Pernice.
This has led BBC bosses to step in to increase security at both Elstree Studios and the hotel used by the show’s cast.

It is understood that neither Dianne, 34, or Nadiya, 34, reported the incident to the police.
A Strictly insider told The Mirror: “Some of the pro dancers have been targeted by some very overzealous fans, who are often at the studio gates and outside the hotel.
“But some have been managing to track down dancers’ addresses and turning up or sending gifts.”

The source continued by saying: “The intrusion is horrible for them. Recently, Nadiya had a fan turn up at her home, and Dianne had the same happen to her before she moved house in July.
“Both of them found the intrusions quite disturbing, and they were left very upset.
“So it was reassuring for them, and everyone else, to learn that the security was to be beefed up.”
Earlier this year, Shirley Ballas revealed she had considered quitting her role as lead judge following “hurtful comments from fans.”
Speaking in an interview with The Mirror she said: “I felt the abuse snowballed out of control and impacted me in such a negative way.”
Shirley continued: “That was an all-time low since I joined the show, it was the most negativity I’d ever experienced. The BBC were brilliant, checking in on me and offering counselling and support.”
When asked whether she would consider quitting Strictly, she replied: “It was a difficult series, I’ll leave it at that. Will I go back to Strictly? I always take one step at a time.”
