Sam Thompson jokes about Strictly curse with Fleur East
Zara McDermott and Bobby Brazier appear to be the hot favourites taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this year and have already got the professional dancers “battling” over who gets to be paired with them.
The Love Island alum and EastEnders star reportedly impressed the pros at an early training session earlier this month.
At these sessions, the stars perform group routines so show bosses can test different pairings and spot good matches.
A source said: “Zara and Bobby are absolutely the favourites.
“All the dancers want to be paired with them because they both have serious potential on the dance floor.

“There’s a battle going on between the pros as they all try to convince bosses to get the best pairing.
“They know their airtime is largely dependent on how talented their celebrity pairing is, so everything is to play for at this stage,” the source told The Sun.
Zara, 26, is best known for causing a stir in the Love Island villa in 2018 and has gone on to make appearances on Made In Chelsea, The X Factor: Celebrity and her own BBC documentaries.
Bobby, 20, plays Freddie Slater in EastEnders and is the son of late Big Brother star Jade Goody and TV presenter Jeff Brazier.

Adam Thomas, 35, who played Adam Barton in Emmerdale, is also thought to be a favourite.
The source added that Family Fortunes host Les Dennis, 69, proved at the session he “won’t be the joke act” and is taking the show “seriously”.
Angela Rippon, who is the oldest contestant at 79, also wowed the group with her “swift” dance moves.
The 2023 series will kick off next month with other stars including Layton Williams, Amanda Abbington and Nigel Harman competing to win the coveted Glitterball Trophy.
It will be available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
