Strictly Come Dancing fans will undoubtedly be delighted to see professional dancer Giovanni Pernice back on the dance floor this week for an emotional Remembrance Day routine.
The professional dancer’s absence has been noted in recent weeks, with viewers previously spotting that he didn’t perform on Halloween – a competition week he typically loves putting his all into.
Some fans of the BBC show were left concerned that they weren’t seeing his dynamic presence onscreen following his dance partner Amanda Abbington’s unexpected departure from the show.
However, one eagle-eyed fan was particularly thrilled to see the Strictly favourite back on the dance floor tonight.
“Gio in the pro dance again!!! F***ing finally,” Leah penned on X (Twitter).
Later on in the episode, fans were further thrilled to see the star take centre stage for a special performance from Andrea Bocelli and his daughter Virginia Bocelli.
The routine was set to a moving rendition of the song Hallelujah and saw Giovanni sweep across the floor with fellow professional Dianne Buswell.
Viewers raced to X to express their excitement that Giovanni had made a stunning return.
“Ahh Gio looking Handsome as always! Missed him!” wrote Tracy.
“We won… Gio is back dancing on the floor,” another fan added, while Kate enthused: “Lovely to see Gio again.”
“Gio in the pro dance and again now with Diane hurray!” Vicki commented. (sic)
“Yessss GIO,” another fan tweeted with heart-eye emojis. “I miss seeing him dance.” (sic)
It comes after Giovanni’s parents spoke up following rumours of a feud between himself and Amanda, which both parties have confirmed to be untrue.
Speaking to the Sun, his father Piero said: “We are surprised by the fact she left the show, because everything was going OK — we thought they could have won.
“It all seemed OK for them before she quit the show. My son is a really nice, polite and respectful boy. He always had good results with different partners and he has never had problems with them”.
Giovanni’s mother Rosalda also noted that the contestants “have to train tough hours” and Giovanni “was just doing his job”.
Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
