Comedian Jayde Adams left Strictly Come Dancing viewers in floods of tears on Saturday night when she dedicated her stunning American Smooth to her late sister, Jenna. Jayde and her professional partner, Karen Hauer, performed the emotional routine to Bette Midler’s Wind Beneath My Wings, which Jayde said was one of Jenna’s favourite songs.
Jenna was diagnosed with a brain tumour aged just 23 and tragically died six years later.
In the clip shown before the routine, Jayde opened up about their close bond and her heartbreak following her sister’s death.
She said: “She was two years older than me and she died 11 years ago.
“I didn’t just lose a sister, I lost a best friend, my dance partner. Her telling me to make everyone laugh, that was my calling.”
