Strictly’s Nigel Harman ‘had furious row with wife’ after ‘disappointing’ dance

Strictly Come Dancing’s Nigel Harman was reportedly so disappointed by the scores he received in Blackpool that he “stormed off” and had a row with his wife, Lucy Liemann.

The former EastEnders star, 50, and his partner Katya Jones, 34, had received a score of 31 for their Quickstep to It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing) by Duke Ellington.

After receiving the judges’ comments, he allegedly “stormed off” and “upset” his wife of 12 years.

A Blackpool audience member claimed to MailOnline: “It all kicked off when he got his scores from the judges. When the cameras stopped rolling he stormed back to his seat and beckoned his wife over. You could tell she knew what was coming. She tried to pacify him but he didn’t work and he took his disappointment out on her.

“After he walked off, Katya then tried to console her. She was visibly upset.”

The audience member also claims that judges Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas were seen “rolling their eyes” after witnessing Nigel’s reaction.

They continued: “Anton and Shirley were like ‘here we go again’ as Nigel looked offended by their scoring. They just rolled their eyes knowing another tantrum was on its way.”

Express.co.uk has contacted spokespeople for Nigel, Shirley, Anton and the BBC.

Casualty star Nigel previously admitted he was “disappointed” by the performance, but insisted he “loved every second of it”.

Appearing on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, the actor said: “I loved every second of it… It’s actually the best I think I’ve danced on this show. And then I made some mistakes…

“But putting that aside, it’s the most I’ve enjoyed it and we had such a good time. Which is why when I made a mistake, afterwards it’s so disappointing. Because you’re like we’ve done all that work and it was so good, but if I park that, the rest of it was just fantastic.”

Last week, Nigel was forced to pull out of the competition after sustaining an injury to his ribs during rehearsal.

A Strictly spokesperson has since confirmed that following his “sad” exit, Nigel will be back in the ballroom for the final.

They told Express.co.uk: “It is always sad when a contestant leaves the show, particularly when an injury is sustained.

“Nigel will be well missed by those who have worked alongside him on the show and everyone wishes him the very best and looks forward to seeing him at the final on Saturday 16th December.”

On whether he will be dancing, the spokesperson added: “It’s a live situation, but the plan is that Nigel will be there, yes.”

Strictly Come Dancing: The Semi-Final airs Saturday at 7.25pm on BBC One.
