This Morning: Shirley Ballas promises Strictly ‘treat’
Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas has firmly dismissed any suggestions of a split from partner Danny Taylor, after she described the pair as “good friends”.
The 62-year-old head judge insisted that she and toyboy, 50, are standing the test of time, quipping that it was “miraculous” they were “still together after four and a half years”.
Although Shirley lives in the south for her filming commitments, and her partner is up north, with both enduring very fast-paced schedules, she clarified that the pair “try to make it work”.
She told The Sun: “What I like most about Danny is he has a heart of gold and he puts up with my lifestyle.
“I am like the Tazmanian devil and I’m all over the place!”

The pair first met at pantomime rehearsals for Jack and The Beanstalk way back in 2018, and chemistry quickly sparked between them.
However, earlier in the summer, Shirley shared that she is no longer interested in marrying her beau.
Talking at the Copacabana London Cabaret Show in June, she told MailOnline: “I’ve changed my mind.
“I just feel that at this particular point in my life, my mother and I have got this great relationship and we want to do some travelling and there are different things we want to do.”

She added that the pair found time to talk “several times per day”, with her mum joining in with phone calls to Danny sometimes too.
Shirley elaborated on her feelings when she added to The Mirror she’d decided, “with Danny’s blessing”, that she was “not in a position at the moment where I want to get married”.
“We are still very much in love, care for each other deeply, and we have a good enough relationship where we don’t need to get engaged or married. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” she concluded.
The dance champion has already enjoyed two marriages in her life – the first, seeing her wed Sammy Stopford in 1980, lasted four years.
The second one, to Corky Ballas, began in 1985 and lasted 22 years, and it was during this marriage that she gave birth to son Mark, now 37.
He has followed in his mum’s artistic footsteps and has even won Dancing With The Stars.
Meanwhile, Shirley’s busy schedule preparing for the new Strictly season intensified when she agreed to take part in a charity skyathalon.
The nerve-wracking itinerary involves a zip line and wing walk, while today she is expected to take part in an exhilarating sky dive.
