Susanna Reid, 51, is known for taking to Twitter to share her views on Good Morning Britain’s topics of the day as well as replying to viewers and their remarks. The former BBC Breakfast presenter hit back at one viewer after they criticised her position on the show alongside Richard Madeley, leaving Susanna to respond with a spelling jibe.

I think it has affected your tweeting.

Susanna originally shared the results of a poll conducted on Good Morning Britain this morning, in view of her 891,200 Twitter followers.

It read: “In our @gmb poll Do You Want A General Election? 93% said yes.

“In our poll “Should Tories Stick With Truss or Twist?” 85% said twist.”

Many took to the comments to share their opinion, while one Twitter user used the opportunity to call for a presenter shake-up on the ITV morning show.

Letmeou58618560 said: “The pill I have just conducted state 100% think you should resign.” (sic)

Clearly making a spelling mistake between poll and pill, Susanna seized the opportunity to quip at the social media user.

She replied: “What kind of pill was it? I think it has affected your tweeting.”

Social media users rushed to the comments to joke about Susanna’s witty comment as well as sticking up for the presenter.

BoxRef added: “Great comeback Susanna!”

This comes as many Good Morning Britain fans have called for a presenter shake-up, with Richard Madeley even squirming as Susanna called Martin Lewis “a hero” on today’s show.

Richard and Susanna have fronted GMB Mondays to Wednesdays since just before Christmas.

The veteran broadcaster took over the job nine months after the departure of Piers Morgan, who has launched a new show on TalkTV.

But Richard has been met with resistance from some viewers, who took to Twitter to vent their opinion.

SpiderDijon wrote: “No contest is it. Ed Balls/Martin Lewis vs out of touch, speak (ill informed) before you think Mad Madeley #GMB must hear the collective groan & sense all the TVs being switched over.”

Ozzjim1 added: “#gmb why on earth have you ruined the show again, it’s been such a blissful few weeks without Madeley! Balls and Lewis are watchable. This guy must boost the ratings elsewhere in seconds.”

Viewers have also often spotted a frosty atmosphere between Susanna and Richard on the show, making an awkward watch for viewers.

Last week she made a dig at him after his return, saying she wanted to “keep him at arm’s length”.

Susanna then recoiled as she touched his shoulder welcoming him back to the morning show.
