Taylor Swift BREAKS $12,000 vintage ring at MTV VMAs

Taylor Swift BREAKS $12,000 vintage ring at MTV VMAs – and appears mortified as search party assembles to hunt down the pricey jewelry

You break it, you buy it.

Taylor Swift appeared to have broken the $12,000 vintage ring she wore to the MTV VMAs – and video captures the moment an entire search party gathered in hopes of recovering the missing piece.

It’s unclear what exactly had transpired, but video shows a mortified Taylor holding up the vintage accessory – with the massive diamond missing from the center of the ring.

This led to several guests, VMA staffers, and Taylor, 33, herself combing the area in hopes of finding the gem.

The results of their efforts remain unknown, but sadly for Taylor, she was not pictured wearing the ring for the remainder of the night.

Expensive! The ring was provided to the star by jewelry dealer Joseph Saidian & Sons, who are selling the ring for $12k

While she was seen arriving on the pink carpet with the stunning bauble on her hand, it was missing when she received the award for Video of the Year.

She was also notably ring-less while attending a VMAs afterparty.

The ring was provided to the star by jewelry dealer Joseph Saidian & Sons, who are selling the ring for $12k, according to People. The Van Cleef Arpels Onyx and Diamond Ring contains 18k Yellow Gold.

Fortunately the jeweler was able to shake off the fiasco.

On their Instagram, they shared photo of Taylor with her broken ring, along with the supportive caption, ‘We are still forever Swifties! (laughing crying emoji).’

Fiasco aside, it was overall an incredible evening for Taylor.

The singer made history when she won in nine of the 11 categories she was nominated – including Artist of the Year – at the annual event, which was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Taylor won Album of the Year for Midnights and Show of the Summer, in addition to taking home six awards for the video and track for Anti-Hero.

They included Video of the Year; Best Cinematography; Best Visual Effects; Best Direction, Best Pop; and Song of the Year.

Oh no! Swift was seen searching for the stone

Search party! Taylor, several guests, and other VMA staffers hunted down the diamond

Leaving no stone unturned! Someone got to the ground in hopes of finding the diamond

It’s been 14 years since Taylor won her first VMA for Best Video by a Female Artist for You Belong with Me (and her acceptance speech was infamously interrupted by Kanye West.)

On Tuesday, Swift told the crowd as she accepted the award for Best Pop for Anti-Hero, ‘I love making pop music, I love making pop music videos, I also love making country.

‘I love slinking around different genres and the only reason I’m allowed to do that is because you, the fans, gave me the opportunity to do this.’

She added, ‘One big adventure and it’s all so much to challenge myself to make music that’s different than what I made last and I just love you for it. But I really love making pop music, so thank you so, so, so much.’

Where is it? Multiple people took part in the search efforts

Shake it off! The jeweler who provided Swift with the ring joked about the mishap on their Instagram

Swift won her second award for Song of the Year for Anti-Hero.

‘I want to say, I’m really, really lucky that I get to write songs with one of my best friends in the world, his name is Jack Antonoff,’ she said in her second speech. ‘I’m so lucky I’ve been making music with him since we worked on an album called 1989 – we will continue working together until 2089!’

The superstar continued: ‘Anyway, I am so, so happy because this is validating my favorite part of what I get to do.

‘I started writing songs when I was 12 and it always starts with a very isolated emotion, a very specific type of insecurity or self-loathing that I feel like I’m the only one who is feeling in that moment.

‘But then when I go out on tour and I’ve got stadiums singing the words back to me.’

She added, ‘It brings me to this very relaxing feeling of maybe we all have the same issues, so thank you so much to the fans, I love you so much, this means the world to me. Thank you!’

Swift took home her third award of the evening for Best Direction for directing the video for her hit track Anti-Hero.

It’s gone! While she was seen arriving on the pink carpet with the stunning bauble on her hand, it was missing when she accepted the award for Video of the Year

Something’s missing: The ring was absent as she delivered her speech for Best Direction award

She thanked her ‘brilliant collaborators’ in her third speech of the evening, saying that being director ‘is absolutely a team sport.’

Swift thanked her editors, cinematographer and director of photography, as well as the actors in the video, adding, ‘You absolutely played the parts perfectly.’

Swift won her fourth award on the telecast for Video of the Year for Anti-Hero.

‘This is unbelievable – I just want to say that the fact that this is a fan-voted award means so much to me,’ she said. ‘Based on the memories that we made recently, the most joyful and exhilarating experience and we are not even halfway done.

Gone: She wasn’t seen wearing the ring in her second outfit of the night either

‘It’s really felt like the adventure of a lifetime this past year.’

The huge evening resulted in Swift moving up in second all-time on MTV VMA winners with 25 overall – only second to Beyoncé’s 28, two of which she earned as a member of Destiny´s Child.
