Taylor Swift‘s re-recorded album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), has debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart dated July 22, giving the singer her 12th No. 1 on the list.
The record’s strong debut sees Swift surpassing Barbara Streisand for the most No. 1 albums among women.
According to Luminate, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) earned 716,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the tracking week ending July 13. Out of this, 507,000 units are in traditional album sales.
The figures represent the largest week for any album this year and the best since Swift’s last studio album, Midnights, which debuted with 1.58 million units, of which 1.14 million were in album sales.
Morgan Wallen‘s One Thing at a Time launched with 501,000 units in the week ending March 9. With regard to the largest sales week on debut this year, Stray Kid‘s 5-STAR saw 235,000 copies sold in the week ending June 8.
Swift, who has four albums in the top 10 on the new Billboard 200, with Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) joining Midnights (at No. 5), Lover (at No. 7) and Folklore (at No. 10), is the first living act to have that many records in the top 10 at the same time since Herb Albert achieved the feat in early April 1966.
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is a re-recorded version of Swift’s 2010 No. 1 Billboard 200 studio album Speak Now. The 22-track re-recorded edition includes new recordings of the original album’s 14 standard tracks, along with bonus cuts and previously unreleased “From the Vault” recordings.
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) follows Swift’s re-recorded Red and Fearless albums, released in 2021. Both debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
