The Chase fans go crazy as ‘Spice Girls’ appear on the show

The Chase viewers were sent into a frenzy after spotting how the show’s four contestants all shared their name with one of the Spice Girls.

Host Bradley Walsh got the popular ITV quiz show underway earlier this week by introducing the new players. And fans immediately spotted something familiar about their names.

The 62 year old presenter welcomed Gerry, Emma, Mel and Victoria to the show. Amused viewers took to Twitter to share their delight at the coincidence.

One said: "Tonight on the chase…The welcome return and reunion of The Spice Girls (WELL NEARLY)." Another added: “The Chase bringing the Spice Girls back together.” A third posted: Omg the spice girls are on the chase.”

A fourth said: “Spice Girls connection on The Chase.”

Chaser Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan also spotted the humorous coincidence and mentioned it on the show. She said to Bradley: “Brad they said it couldn’t be done but you’ve done it."

When he asked what she was talking about, she said: “You’ve brought the Spice Girls back together.”

Meanwhile, earlier this month Jenny Ryan looked worlds away from her Vixen persona as she stepped out to attend a star-studded red carpet. Jenny was pictured at the press night for the theatre production of 42nd Street at Sadler's Wells in London on Thursday 15 June.

The Chase favourite wowed in a light blue jumpsuit, paired with some chunky trainers that had a rainbow coloured sole. The 41 year old quizzer glowed as she put on a big smile for the camera in circular glasses and had her signature red hair straightened.

She was followed on the red carpet by a number of glamorous celebrities including Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli and former Love Island contestant Amy Hart.

And last month, The Chase’s Anne Hegerty left viewers and host Bradley Walsh gobsmacked after she made a rather x-rated comment to a contestant. The player, named Dylan, revealed that he worked as an animator on children's television.

As Anne arrived to face off against him, she said: "Hello Dylan. Digital artist. Are you going to quiz… or touch me up after filming?" And while Dylan didn't reply to comment, the camera panned to a shocked-looking Bradley, who quipped: "Wow. There's an offer you can refuse."

Anne herself was left surprised in a recent episode of the popular show when the four contestants, who were previously unknown to one another, all shared a royal connection.

As Bradley announced the contestant's names, Archie, Louis, Charlotte and George, viewers at home were left floored due to the discovery all four hopefuls shared names with royal children.

While genius Anne instantly realised the connection between the players, former Coronation Street actor Bradley didn't see it at first.
