Horse-mad Princess Anne may approve of the new role for Erin Doherty, who played her in Netflix series The Crown.
The actress, 30, (inset in the royal hit) is back holding the reins in forthcoming series A Thousand Blows.
Wearing a blue Victorian costume, she’s pictured driving a horse-drawn carriage on set in London.

To be broadcast on Disney+, the drama will tell the true story of the Forty Elephants, an all-woman crime syndicate whose speciality was shoplifting from department stores.
Also starring Bafta nominee Stephen Graham, it’s created by Stephen Knight, who made the BBC’s hugely popular Brummie gangster drama Peaky Blinders.
The horses are sure to tickle the fancy of King Charles’s sister. She’s so obsessed by all things equine that Anne’s late father, Prince Philip, once joked: ‘If it doesn’t fart or eat hay, she isn’t interested.’
