This Morning guest Iris Jones, 83, takes swipe at Egyptian toyboy, 37, after split

This Morning's iconic guest star Iris Jones has taken an awkward swipe at her Egyptian toyboy ex Mohamed Ibrahim.

The 83 year old pensioner previously appeared on the ITV daytime show to announce she'd found love with a Mediterranean man 46 years her junior, but it was true love.

The pair have since split up as Iris claimed that despite their "great" sex life, she couldn't cope with the arguments and it had become "hard work".

Now the star has found a calmer and quieter companion in her adorable Bengal cat Mr Tibbs, whom she gushed over on her Facebook page.

In a post updating her followers on her adorable new pet, the famous granny was over the moon to have moved on.

The star called her feline her "new love" as she adopted him in the wake of her break-up, and gushed that he's "cleverer than any men" she's ever known.

Sharing a snap of her pedigree kitty attempting to steal some dried food from a bag, Iris added he was "cleverer than you know who".

After seemingly announcing she and Mohamed had decided to call it quits with an initial snap of her new cat – his replacement – the star later opened up on her true reasons to Closer.

"I never expected to fall in love with someone 46 years younger than me, but I did," the pensioner professed. "I adored everything about Mohamed.

"But it became hard work. We used to have a great sex life but then, rather than making love, we ended up arguing all the time about anything and everything.

"I can’t be doing with that. I’m not a lovesick teenager. I’m 83," Iris added honestly.

In the wake of the public news, Mohamed also broke his silence on the split when he shared a cryptic message with his followers on social media.

Quoting lyrics from Gloria Gaynor's hit song, I Will Survive, on Facebook, Mohamed seemed to be hitting out at his ex.

"At first I was afraid, I was petrified. Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side.

"But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong. And I grew strong. And I learned how to get along," the grieving ex-husband added.

Iris previously revealed she started talking to Mohamed on Facebook, and it wasn't long before sparks were flying between the pair.

The This Morning star arranged to fly over to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, a couple of months later, much to the concern of her friends and family.

The pair celebrated their first anniversary in 2021, but decided to part ways two years later.
