‘This is very unfair!’ Una Healy slams requirements for new ‘middle-aged Love Island’ show and declarers she WON’T be applying – following ‘throuple split’

Una Healy has hit back at the application requirements for the new ‘middle-aged Love Island’ show, branding it ‘very unfair’.

New ITV reality programme The Romance Retreat, hosted by Davina McCall, will see single parents, nominated by their children, looking for love at a luxury retreat.

But The Saturday’s singer, 41 – who recently hit the headlines amid her ‘throuple’ drama – has called out the show for only allowing those with children to apply, before declaring that she won’t be applying herself.

Sharing a screenshot of an article about the upcoming show, Una wrote over it: ‘So anyone ‘middle aged’ without kids can’t apply? This is very unfair in my eyes… either way… I won’t be applying.’

She also made a dig at the show being touted as one for ‘middle-aged people’, sharing a questions box asking: ‘What even is “middle age” X reply below.’

Meanwhile, Una’s words come shortly after the mother-of-two declared herself ‘single’ after reportedly ending her ‘throuple’ with boxer David Haye and his girlfriend Sian Osborne.

It comes after Una was pictured holidaying in Marrakech with former heavyweight boxer David, 42, and his model girlfriend Sian, 35, back in January.

It’s understood that David and Sian, who he started dating in 2020, drafted Una into a three-way romance before Una is said to have ended the ‘throuple’.

Now, Una has confirmed that she is single and is focusing on parenting her two kids Aoife, ten, and Tadhg, eight, who she shares with ex-husband Ben Foden.

Dream come true: Confirming her involvement on Thursday, McCall admitted she pleaded with ITV broadcasters to let her front the show, which is expected to air later this year

She told The Irish Mirror: ‘I am single and raising my two children, just like many other single parents – both men and women – doing a great job.

‘I am a single parent, I don’t like the term single mother as it has negative connotations.

‘You can’t do it all by yourself, there is no shame in asking for help, be that from childcare, family or friends.’

Una went on to say that she is often asked how she juggles being a single parent but pointed out that men are rarely ever asked how they do the same, saying mothers don’t have a choice.

Meanwhile, David appeared to hint that he was looking for a replacement for Una in his couple as he shared a cryptic Instagram post earlier this month.

The boxer shared a snap of himself with girlfriend Sian and three other women while partying at the SXM Festival in Saint Martin in the Caribbean.
