Vanessa Feltz’s awkward response to Phillip Schofield question at NTAs

GB News: Eamonn reacts to This Morning ‘being booed’ at NTAs

Vanessa Feltz gave a very awkward answer when asked about Phillip Schofield as she joined the This Morning team at the National Television Awards.

Phillip, 61, was notably absent from the bash for the first time in years following his admission to an affair which led to his resignation from ITV.

Speaking on the red carpet on Tuesday, Celebs Go Dating star Vanessa was asked how the ex-This Morning presenter is doing.

She then awkwardly told Daily Star and other press: “You will have to ask him,” and declined to comment.

It comes after Vanessa and Phillip were spotted enjoying an evening out at the Little Bird restaurant in Chiswick. This marked the first time Phillip was seen with a colleague after resigning in May.

It was speculated that Phil could be set to join Vanessa on TalkTV with PR expert Andy Barr saying the channel could be the “career rebuilding platform he needs”.

However, a legal representative for Phillip confirmed he is not planning on joining the rival broadcaster, telling Express.co.uk: “Absolutely not as far as I know.”

At Tuesday’s NTAs, This Morning lost out on the Daytime award for the first time in 12 years, with BBC’s The Repair Shop taking home the gong instead.

As Jay Blades and the team got up to collect their award, Holly Willoughby, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary were seen applauding in the audience.

Before taking to the stage, the visibly shocked restoration expert awkwardly approached the This Morning stars and hugged Holly.

In his acceptance speech, Jay, 53, made his colleagues pose for a photo before giving the acceptance speech.

He said: “I have to take a picture of this because this is a rarity, us standing on this stage and winning it!

“We’re the new kids on the block and I’m glad we won this time.

“I know it won’t be a regular thing but we’ve done it this time so thank you, thank you.”

It wasn’t the only loss for This Morning on the night as Alison Hammond was beaten by Ant and Dec for Best Presenter.
