Zara McDermott discusses her injuries from dancing
Sam Thompson has detailed what he really thinks about girlfriend Zara McDermott’s professional dance partner Graziano Di Prima.
Love Island star Zara, 26, and Graziano, 29, were announced as dance partners when Strictly pairings were unveiled on Saturday night. During the show, viewers had taken to Twitter to joke that Sam “must be sweating” as she was paired up with the “Italian hunk”.
However, former Made In Chelsea star, Sam, 31, addressed the speculation on his Hits UK with Sam Thompson show last night, saying that the pro dancer and his wife Giada Lini, 32, had already popped round for dinner.
He said: “Graziano, what a lovely man. What a beautiful man as well… big muscles, about 6 foot 4, jacked and a year younger than me as well which is terrifying.
“He came round for dinner with his lovely, beautiful wife not long ago. We made him spag bol and we found out loads about him. He grew up in Sicily, he was a grape stomper. I think that’s what they call it. He put a roof over his parents’ head when he started dancing, he’s got the most amazing story, he’s the loveliest man.

He continued: “What struck me though was… he looks like [Sam’s best pal] Pete Wicks. He looks like my mate Pete just a bit better looking, a little bit less haggard to be fair.”
He also took to Instagram to share snaps of the meet up, including one in which Sam got the dancer to wear his £300 MSCHF rubber red boots, the reality TV star wrote: “I got to meet Zara’s strictly pro! Even got him in my red boots!
“@grazianodiprima you’re an absolute legend sir, and I CANNOT wait for all the TikTok’s (why am I so hunched)’.”
Zara also shared photos of when she was paired with Graziano in dance rehearsals.
She wrote: “SAY HELLO TO YOUR NEW FAVOURITE DUO…!!!!! it’s been one of the best experiences of my life already meeting you… I can already tell that you and I are going to be the absolute best of friends!!! this is just the beginning!!!
“I’m so blessed and lucky to be paired with you for this experience, I couldn’t ask for anyone better to have by my side (swipe to see team graziara).”

For their first performance, Zara and Graziano will dance the Cha Cha. “I think I’m probably the most nervous I’ve been in my life,” admitted Zara.
“I’m not a natural born performer, I’m not an extrovert, so this is the biggest challenge of my life,” she added.
Graziano added: “It is going to be exotic, Latin, and it is the Cha Cha Cha darling.”
Sam has vowed to “be there” to support his girlfriend as she prepares for her Strictly debut.
