THE more uses you can get out of a product the better, but did you know there are 15 ways you can use dryer sheets?

One cleaning whizz shared some of the clever ways she puts them to good use, including freshening up smelly shoes and removing scuff marks.


She shared them on her Instagram account @livescomposed, and other cleaning fans can't believe they didn't know about the tricks.

Repel dust

You can use the sheets to repel dust, either simple swipe over surfaces with them and you'll have super clean surfaces in an instant.

"It leaves behind a trace of anti-static residue for a fresh scent and effective dust repellent," the pros from Molly Maid explained.

Keep insects at bay

And if you have an outside post box, adding in a dryer sheet can keep bees and other insects out, so there will be no nasty surprises when you go to get your post.

Keep shoes smelling fresh

According to the cleaning whizz you can also pop a dryer sheet in smelly shoes to help get rid of any grim smells.

This is a hack even Mrs Hinch approved, with the cleaning guru previously telling fans she uses them in her shoes.

“I pop a tumble sheet into my shoes to keep them smelling nice," she said on Instagram.

Clean pots and pans

If you've got a pan you can seem to get clean, dryer sheets could be the solution too.

Add one to the pan along with some boiling water and leave it to soak, after a few minutes the food should loosen and you'll be able to get your pots and pans perfectly clean.

Speaking to Today.com Donna Smallin Kuper, author of Cleaning Plain & Simple, explained that it's the conditioning properties of the dryer sheet being released into the water that help to remove scorched on food.

Get rid of scuff marks

Crayon and scuff marks can be tricky to get rid of without damaging the paint on walls, but using a dryer sheet can also help there.

Simply rub the sheet into the scuff or pen parks and watch it disappear.

Clean your hairbrush

Dryer sheets can get keep your trusty hairbrush sparkling clean, start by removing any hair in the brush, then full a bowl with warm water.

Submerge the brush between two dryer sheets and let it sit in the water for a couple of hours and rinsing.

Allow your brush to air dry and it should be as good as new.

Clean electronic screens

Not only are they dust magnets, but electronic screens can be covered in finger prints.

But dryer sheets can be used to help to counteract static and remove any dust and dinger prints.
