Billie Eilish is known for putting a unique twist on ’90s grunge, and her new mirror selfie is the latest example. Eilish, 20, styled an olive bodysuit with a plunging neckline underneath an ecru checked flannel for a sexy spin on the retro-grunge-fashion era.
The “Bad Guy” singer piled on her regular collection of silver chokers and rings, an assortment that she’s been wearing on repeat. Some of the necklaces come from gender-neutral lifestyle brand Martyre, which was founded by Yoni Laham and Anwar Hadid. Established in 2018, the collector-style jewelry label aims to restore symbolism to honor significant moments in our lives.
Eilish somehow weaves that same ’90s style inspiration into her red carpet looks. She chose a similar color palette for the 2022 Met Gala in a Gucci corset dress, which she paired with layered silver and black chokers. At the 2022 Oscars, she added some edge to a ruffled Gucci ballgown with Demonia knee-high platform boots. And she made a bold statement at the Grammys, opting for a deconstructed trench coat by Rick Owens, styled off-kilter so the collar hung across her chest.
Eilish’s onstage outfits follow suit. She performed at Glastonbury wearing a custom graphic-print Farewell look at the end of June. She also made an appearance at the Hollywood Bowl in all-black oversize suiting and Peter Do platform boots to sing for a Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee tribute on Wednesday, July 27. Taking the stage alongside legends Christian McBride, Dianne Reeves, and Blondie, the star opted for more delicate jewelry as compared to this recent casual moment.
