Kate Middleton and her mother Carole have often been seen stepping out in similar-looking clothes. On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales wore a cream Alexander McQueen blazer, which looked really similar to the white jackets that Carole has been wearing for many years.

For example, in October 2011, just six months after her daughter’s wedding, Carole wore a gorgeous white blazer over a chic black dress to go to the London Palladium.

But this is not the first example of the two Middleton women copying each other’s style.

One time, Carole actually wore the exact same dress that her daughter Kate had previously worn. In 2021, the Princess visited Scotland wearing a pink midi dress from Me + Em.

Carole then wore the same dress at Royal Ascot the following year, although it is likely that it was a new purchase as opposed to wearing the actual garment her daughter owns.

One of the earliest examples of Kate and Carole wearing similar styles was in 2013 when the Princess gave birth to Prince George.

In 2013 when Kate gave birth to Prince George, she stepped out of the Lindo Wing wearing a gorgeous blue Jenny Packham dress.

But when Carole showed up at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington to see her first grandchild, she wore an almost identical blue Orla Kiely dress.

The dress was from the 2012 collection and would have cost about £160. It was elegantly belted around Carole’s slim waist.

Another example was in February 2023, when the Princess of Wales wore a red and white checkered coat from Catherine Walker & Co at the Six Nations Rugby match.

The knee-length dress features a collar and is completed with big, shiny red buttons.

But back in 2014, her mother Carole wore a similar red and white checkered dress, except hers was short-sleeved and appropriate for summer. Carole wore the outfit when she attended Wimbledon that year.

Back in 2018, Carole and Kate were style twins again. Carole attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in Windsor wearing a pastel blue Catherine Walker coat.

Two months later, the Princess of Wales attended the centenary celebrations for the Royal Air Force, where she wore a very similar pastel blue coat dress.

Kate’s version was a custom light blue coat dress by Alexander McQueen, which she paired with a Sean Barrett hat, nude high heel shoes, a cream-coloured handbag, and a large brooch.

The lapels on both dresses and the sleeve detailing were extremely similar in both Carole’s and Kate’s designs.

In July 2019, Kate visited the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival to view the RHS “Back to Nature Garden” which she co-designed.

The Princess wore a green Sandro “short-sleeved printed flowing dress” with pleats and buttons, a V-neck, and a fitted waist.

She also donned summer-appropriate espadrilles, which are her go-to footwear for that time of year.

One week later, Carole stepped out at Wimbledon wearing an almost identical green dress to her daughter’s.

The mother of three wore a £169.95 printed wrap dress by Scotch & Soda, which had a green, black and white geometric pattern.
