Five laundry hacks that help your wet clothes dry quickly inside and the 5p product that leaves them super soft | The Sun

A WOMAN has shared five laundry hacks that she swears by, and will make your life easier when washing endless baskets of clothes this winter.

Elnaz Hamai, an organisation, cleaning and DIY fan, took to social media to share her advice. She said: “Laundry tips that you need to know.

“Always separate heavy fabric from delicate. You don't want your jeans beating up on your delicate clothes."

Similarly, heavy fabrics absorb more water, so the expert said: “Never mix towels with your load of clothes.

“Towels absorb a lot more water in the washing machine, and since they take longer to dry, you're over drying your other clothes and exposing them to too much heat [if they go into a tumble dryer]."

When it comes to dark coloured jeans, "turn them inside out", and do this for any graphic T-shirts.

She explained: "This will avoid breakage of the graphic overtime.”

All jeans should also be buttoned up or zipped up before washing, just like zip-up hoodies should be done up too.

Elnaz revealed why:“You don't want them to catch on the other clothes and get damaged.”

Finally, according to this whizz, you need to ditch fabric softener and dryer sheets: “I always skip the fabric softener. Instead use white vinegar – yes, you heard me right."

White vinegar can be purchased from B&M for as little as 79p, and you only need a capful per load.

According to Grow Fragrance, "white vinegar is an all-natural and affordable fabric softener that can make your clothes feel softer and fresher than ever before".

“Fabric softener leaves a layer of residue and reduces absorption of your towels," the expert added.

“Don't use a dryer sheet. It can leave a coating of residue inside your dryer.

“Over time [it] can affect the ability of your dryer to properly dry. Instead, use a wool dryer ball.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @elnazhamai, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and amassed one million views.

Social media users were thankful for the advice and took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “These are outstanding laundry tips. I did not know some of these tips. I am going to try them.”

Another added: “That was super helpful, thank you.”

A third commented: “All great tips!!”

Meanwhile, someone else asked: “Is vinegar safe for metal parts??”

To this, Elnaz confirmed: “Yes I’ve been doing this for years and my mother was doing it even longer. Vinegar will not damage your machine.”

At the same time, another user questioned: “How much white vinegar should we use?”

Elnaz then replied: “1/4 cup for each load.”

Not only this, but another cleaning enthusiast asked: “How can I make my clothes smell good If I don’t use softener?”
