How do I stop my bin from smelling when it’s hot? Cleaning whizz shares the 2p hack & two other ways to prevent the pong | The Sun

A CLEANING guru has shared three easy hacks that will make your kitchen sparkle – and smell amazing.

With constant food preparation, kitchen is one of the dirtiest places in your home – but to help it look like new, one cleaning whizz, Jessica May, has come to rescue with a few easy tricks.

Jessica, better known to her fans as @jessicamay_home, took to TikTok to share some of her favourite tips, also revealing a 2p hack for banishing nasty smells from your bin.

The whizz first revealed how she ensured all stainless steel surfaces were streak-free and shiny – and according to her, you don't need any harsh chemical products.

In her video, Jessica explained that fellow cleaning fanatics can use baby oil instead of pricey store-bought essentials.

Simply drizzle a small amount onto a microfiber cloth and wipe all the surfaces as normal.

Bin has begun to smell in the hot weather? The pro also shared a solution for this – and it will come in handy this summer.

The trick here, she said, is adding scented cotton wool balls to the bottom of your waste bin.

Once done, add a cup of baking soda – this will soak up any leaks – and pieces of cardboard for extra absorption.

''Then add your bin liners as usual,'' Jessica said in the clip.

Last but certainly not least was a hack for preventing grim grease build-up on the top of your shelves.

To do this, the cleaning whizz instructed her followers to line tall shelving with newspaper – not only will this soak up any grease straight away, but it will also collect any dust.
