I got rhinoplasty to have the nose of my dreams… little did I know the swelling would be so bad I'd look like Avatar | The Sun

A BEAUTY fan was left looking like the fictional character from Avatar after forking out for rhinoplasty.

For years, TikTok user Julia Madeline (@juliamadelinee), from the US, was struggling to breathe due to a medical condition known as deviated septum.

This meant the nasal septum – the bone and cartilage that divide the nasal cavity of the nose in half – was off centre, making it challenging to inhale oxygen properly.

Determined to fix her nose, Julia set out to find a plastic surgeon who'd help her breathe once again.

With a little bit of help from her insurance, which covered some of the costs, the young woman saw an expert based in the sunny coasts of California.

But although the procedure went smoothly and Julia said there was barely pain, it all changed once she took off the cast she had been wearing for three weeks after the surgery.

In her head, Julia was convinced she'd look ''so good'' with her new nose – however, the reality was slightly different.

The nose, she revealed in the now-viral video, had become to swollen, it looked nothing like the images she had seen online.

In fact, it was so wide, some TikTok users even compared her to the animated movie character Avatar.

According to Julia, she had to embrace the chunky nose for some time as well.

For those interested in the pricey procedure, the fitness fan revealed: ''I didn’t have ANY pain until they removed the splints but even then it was quick and went away within 30 seconds!
