I have 11 kids and keep all 32 of their school shirts bright white using the easiest hack – there’s ZERO bleach involved | The Sun

A MUM-OF-11 has let people in on her laundry secret to making whites sparkle when you’re doing huge light loads every week.

Joanne O’Rourke washes 32 school polos a week.

And as we all know, school uniforms come home with all kinds of stains – food, grass, mud and the like.

After years of soaking her white loads in buckets to bring them back to life, a mum-friend revealed the ultimate laundry hack.

Joanne took to TikTok, where she regularly posts about the “madness and mayhem” in her huge family, to let people in on the secret.

“I swear to God, this is such a game changer for me,” she said.

“It’s less hassle and it’s just brilliant really.

“I thought, do you know what, I’ll share it with you guys.”

The mega-mum starts off by putting a full white load of washing into the machine drum, alongside two washing tablets and a handful of scent boosters.

Joanne adds Vanish and fabric conditioner to the washing machine tray and puts the washing machine on at 40 degrees for an hour.

However, her clever hack comes in before the hour is up.

Once the machine has spun for 15 minutes and is all soapy inside, she pauses it and leaves the whites to soak in the suds overnight.

“I leave the machine on pause for the whole night,” Joanne explained.

“So the whites then sit there in the vanish and all the bits that I’ve put in there.

“Basically, it’s just like an overnight soaking.”

In the morning, she presses the start button on the machine to finish the washing cycle.

Fellow mums were blown away by the cleaning hack and couldn’t believe how clever it was.

“This is brilliant,” one penned. “I’m so going to try this on my next white load.”
