I live in a van with hidden features that bring a whole new meaning to breakfast in bed, but come into a shower issue | The Sun

A DIGITAL nomad has revealed one of the biggest challenges he experiences while living in a van.

He has been documenting his travels on social media to fund his adventures since he moved out of his apartment in 2022.

Lars Born (@thelarsborn), who boasts over 259,000 followers on TikTok, claims that he didn’t have any money when he became a full-time wanderer.

He took to the social media platform to share an average day in his life living in his van.

He had equipped the vehicle with a space to sleep and cook but admitted having a shower isn’t always easy.

Lars started his morning by driving his van to a free car park in Fife, Scotland, which had a picturesque view of the sea.

He said: “I washed my face a little bit because I was half asleep and then I set off to make a brew.”

He used a portable gas stove to heat water in a stovetop kettle and revealed that his food supplies including coffee are stored underneath his bed.

He said: “I should probably stop brewing my coffee without using a teaspoon because I tend to put too much coffee in but the caffeine rush is amazing.

“Oh and then I made myself some porridge.

“Following that it was time to head to the gym to go and grab a shower and a cheeky workout.

“I hadn’t showered for a few days and I was starting to get a bit stinky, not ideal.”

Lars was visibly frustrated as he was forced to return to his van after being refused entry into the gym.

He had previously joked about having to rely on the rain whenever he needed to have a shower.

He said: “Apparently that’s one of the only gyms in the country apart from the ones in London that I can’t use so we’re going to have to come up with another plan of action.

“I need to shower and I need the toilet.”

The explorer rushed to a local supermarket to use the toilet and bought his groceries.

Despite having failed to get a shower, he continued his day with a focus on making content for his social media accounts.

He said: “Then I cooked myself a one-pot meal which I always do to save myself on washing up and because people on TikTok seem to like it.”

He seemed in good spirits as he ate the meal directly from the pot while watching the sunset by the sea.

The video racked up over 12,000 views and hundreds of likes as people in the comment section admitted they were inspired by his lifestyle.

In another post, he revealed that he plans to sell his van and continue his travels with a motorbike.
