A CLEANING whizz has revealed the how she makes her own scented laundry freshener and she swears by how well it works.
Not only does the DIY freshener cost loads less than the fancy balls, but anyone can make it at home in minutes.
Posting on the Instagram account @zerowastecartel the cleaning whizz shared the quick and easy recipe, you'll probably have most of them in your cupboards already too.
"I loved using scent booster beads in my laundry but I stopped using them ages ago," the pro said.
Here's what you'll need to make your own laundry freshener at home:
- 1.5 cup Epsom salts
- 0.5 cup Baking soda
- 20 drops of Essential oils

Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl and and seal in a jar so it's ready to use on your next load of laundry.
"I love how versatile I can be with the scents depending on the season or whatever I'm feeling," the keen cleaner noted.
Simply spoon in one or two tablespoons of the powder into your laundry along with your usual detergent and your clothes will come out smelling lush.
There are plenty of different essential oil scents out there from fresh and fruity to cosy and warm – so you can really go in any direction you like.

The pro recommended using a lavender scent when you wash your bedsheets and pyjamas for a relaxing sleep.
Instagram users loved the simple hack and couldn't wait to try it out on their own laundry.
