Well, for the curly hair beauty fans out there, Zia is here to set the record straight.
The hair genius, who goes by the name of curlyzia.xo on TikTok, has shared the “correct” way to wash your hair, making the curls work for you.
She says: “Wavy hair needs a bit of help & that’s ok. Learn how to get the best out of your natural texture.”
In a video, which has been viewed over 290k times, she first demonstrates the technique most people would be familiar with.

This was shampooing and conditioning in the shower.
She then should off the after results of her hair which appeared to look wavy and dry.
But then she demonstrated using a bowl and brush to wash her hair instead of in the shower.
Firstly she starts off by shampooing and conditioning her hair and then rinsing it in a bowl of water.
She then follows this by a leave-in conditioner, which she brushes through her hair before rinsing in a bowl of water.
Zia then towel drys her hair slightly before adding curl creme, mouse, gel and then diffusing it.
And there is a clear difference between the results as her hair appears to be more bouncy and curlier in the second hair washing routine.
Many other beauty fans rushed to the comments section to ask questions and share their thoughts.
One wrote: “Will it air dry the same? My five year old daughter has hair like this but know she wouldn’t stand long enough to diffuse.”
To which Zia replied: “It's personal preference!”
