THIS dog owner splurged on a purebred pup in the hope of saving cash on bills – but was hit with a nasty shock.

Three years after buying a purebred beagle with five generation pedigree and no health problems, this dog's owner ended up paying £16k in vet bills.

Basil the Beagle's owner took to TikTok to share a video of the gorgeous pup – although her pet cost a fortune.

But the owner clearly loves Basil to pieces – she captioned the clip: "Don't regret it at all."

The video racked up a whopping 28,500 likes.
