A WOMAN who was sick of looking at her stained and grubby beige sofa has transformed it into a modern olive green couch on a budget.

Kris Buckhout, from the US, shared the savvy hack on social media leaving many impressed.


Sofas are obviously expensive and Kris wanted to give hers an upgrade without spending hundreds on a new one.

So the savvy woman decided to use a couple of bed sheets to make it look brand new.

"And now i have a gorgeous olive linen sofa for fall without spending a dime," she captioned the clip.

Viewers were obsessed with the simple upgrade and inundated Kris asking for a tutorial.

The money-saving woman quickly uploaded another clip showing how she did it.

She said: "Never in my life did I think I would be doing a tutorial on how to put a sheet over your sofa, but here we are.

"You guys asked for it, so please do not s**t on me."

She used one fitted sheet on the left-side of her corner sofa and a large king-sized flat sheet on the right-side.

"And look at how good it looks," she said showing off the finished results.

"Just a ton of tucking."

Kris used olive green linen bed sheets for the hack – but you can use any bed sheets you have lying around to do it yourself.

The clip posted to her TikTok account @kris_buckhout has since gone viral with over 4million views and 290k likes.

People were stunned by the easy hack and many said it was great to change the interiors of your home without spending loads of money.

One person wrote: "This is genius. Why did I think of this?!"

Another commented: "I love this idea actually."

"Wait, this is actually genius," penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: "My mom has done this my entire life so we didn’t ruin the leather lololol."

"Never thought of that hell yeah cheaper than a cover,” claimed a fifth.
