I wanted to see if bulk buying really saves money so compared Tesco & The Food Warehouse – I didn’t expect the results | The Sun

FOR some, buying in bulk is the key to saving money.

But one woman took it upon herself to figure out whether buying more of something always ensures a good deal – by comparing bargains at Tesco and The Food Warehouse.

The latter is an offshoot of Iceland, and the majority of products are sold in bulk.

Beth, aka the Budgeting Mum, took to her TikTok page to share a video, over the top of which she wrote: "Where is it cheaper to bulk buy?"

She began her video by showing a big bag of Tetley tea bags, which was £8 in The Food Warehouse and £10 in Tesco, while an XXL pack of Fairy Non-Bio powder was £12.50 in The Food Warehouse and £13.50 in Tesco.

A jumbo pack of Pampers nappy pants was £16 in The Food Warehouse and £14.50 in Tesco – although both stores had a deal to buy two packs for £22, making them £11 each.

If you’re a new parent, then a jumbo pack of Pampers’ new baby nappies were £15 each or to for £20 in The Food Warehouse and £12 each or two for £21 in Tesco.

On the food front, a massive bag of penne pasta was £4.25 in The Food Warehouse but cheaper in Tesco at £4.

Concluding her video, Beth showed a 24-roll pack of Velvet toilet paper for £9 in The Food Warehouse and £9.50 in Tesco.

"I think with bulk buying we always assume we're automatically getting a good deal but actually it is still worth shipping around to get the best price!" Beth added in the caption.
