I was a nanny for a royal family – shopping and trips to theme parks were mad, but everyone thought I was dating the dad | The Sun

A WOMAN has opened up on what it was like to be a nanny for a royal family.

Ginger Rose Smith explained that she was just 21 when she was a nanny for a rich family living in Los Angeles.

She explained that shopping experiences and trips to theme parks were wild, and everyone thought she was dating the dad.

Opening up about her life as a nanny for the rich family, Ginger took to social media, where she shared a video with the caption “UAE royalty is next levellll.”

She then explained: “Get ready with me while I tell you about the time I was a nanny for a royal family in Los Angeles.

“Let's set the scene – I was 21, living in LA for the summer, interning at Lionsgate, which was an unpaid internship, so the rest of the time I wasn't working, I had to figure out a way to somehow make money.

“A friend of a friend who went to UCLA had a connection with this family who lived in Dubai.

“And like most wealthy families, they had a house in LA, where they lived part of the year.

“I remember thinking some of the questions they asked me were kind of weird when I interviewed – like where do you shop? What kind of brands do you like to wear?

“I guess it makes sense because I was gonna be seen out a lot with the family, but for a nanny position, I was expecting a little bit different.

“The family had four nannies – it was me and two other college aged girls who took care of the two young children.

“And they also had a live-in nanny for their infant son.

“As you can imagine, it was pretty crazy. I would get to work in the morning and their private chef would ask me what I wanted to eat.

“There was always a million staff coming and going.”

Ginger then explained what it was like to go out with the royal family, as she added: “We would go shopping at the Nike store and they would literally close the store down for us to come shop there.

“One day, I even got to go to Universal with the dad and the two kids. We had one of those private tour guides where you get to skip to the front of the line, and then when we rode the ride, no one else was allowed to be on it with us.

“That day was pretty crazy, and I felt like everyone thought I was dating the dad because it was just us and the kids, which was weird.

“I was also just there all the time. Like, the mom would take the kids shopping, and I would just come along.

“It was almost like they wanted to be seen with the help.

“The parents were incredibly down to earth.

“I actually didn't even know that they were a royal family until the housekeeper told me.

“It was definitely a super cool job, and I learned a lot about how the wealthiest of the wealthy live.

“I could tell some pretty crazy stories, but for now, I'll leave it at that.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @gingerrrose, has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed 17,800 views.

Social media users were stunned at Ginger’s crazy job and were keen to share this in the comments.

One person said: “Gonna need all the juicy stories.”

Another added: “Girl. This is IT.”
