I was a teen mum and gave my son a ‘unique’ name – people ALWAYS say it wrong & now I massively regret it | The Sun

PICKING the perfect name for your new-born is easier said than done sometimes.

There's a lot that can go wrong – from awkward nicknames to mispronunciations.

But one mum confessed that she massively regrets the name she gave her son because no one can ever pronounce it right.

She shared on her TikTok account, @monie.giantsbane, explaining why the name was such a fail.

The now 38-year-old said she was a teen mum and named her son Abel because it was a "strong, good, biblical name."

Monie added that she loves the name and her son suits it – but there's just one problem with it.

I’m a midwife and there’s one baby name I can’t stand – it’s just awful

She explained: "My only regret is the way I chose to spell his name.

"Because I had him as a teenager in the early 2000's, back in those days you used to add extra letters and sh** into your name to zhuzh it up a bit."

Instead of Spelling her son's name the traditional way, the mum mixed things up and spelt it 'Aybel'.

"People couldn't grasp how to pronounce his name and would call him 'Ibell'.

But the mum's name regrets don't end there – her son's name is also incredibly long.

As is common for many islanders, Monie gave her son more names than most parents, since so many people wanted to be included in the name.

She said: "Now he has a name doesn't fit in all the boxes that are provided on government forms because his name is just that long.

"Anyway, I'm sorry about that kid, you're lucky you're handsome," the mum joked.
