I went on a ‘breakup getaway’ with my man – we’re splitting in two weeks but wanted a holiday together anyway | The Sun

USUALLY when you're going through a breakup you want it to be over as soon as possible so you can move on.

But one couple decided to do things a little differently and have a short holiday together before parting ways for good.

The girlfriend, Piper, took to TikTok to share their last trip away as a couple on her account, @tovahparpar.

Although some viewers loved the mature approach to relationships not everyone was convinced the getaway was a good idea.

In the clip Piper says: "Me and my boyfriend are breaking up in two weeks.

"We went on a beautiful breakup weekend getaway. We cuddled in this spot for 4 hours reminiscing.

"We talked about all of our fears, our plans for healing, and what we hope for our futures. It was heartbreaking and healing all at once."

The heartbroken Piper captioned the clip: " "It won’t hurt this bad forever, right?"

In a previous clip, she explained that she was moving to a different city to her beau, despite having plans to move in with him on the same day.

Some viewers were baffled by the strange ending to the couple's relationship, one said: "Cannot think of anything worse than this."

Another agreed that the getaway was strange, they wrote: "That would be the worst two weeks of my life, just prolonging the pain."

But others thought the divisive holiday was the perfect ending to a chapter, one user said: "This is so mature and considerate, just lovely."

A second confessed: "Sometimes a breakup isn't a crisis, sometimes it's two people who love each other realising there is a non-negotiable that means they aren't their forever."
