I went on the train in Paris ONCE and ended up getting bed bugs – now my body's being ravaged | The Sun

A WOMAN who went on the train in Paris once has been left covered in itchy sores after the trip ended up with her getting bed bugs.

Influencer Jihoon has been in the French capital for Paris Fashion Week, and has been documenting her experience with pictures and videos on her social media pages.

In a recent video on TikTok, she showed herself with a friend on the Metro in Paris, as they danced around.

But someone in the comments wrote: "Sweetie be careful because there's some bed bugs on public transport!"

A warning has been issued in Paris about the "widespread" outbreak of bed bugs in public places, including in cinemas, at the airport and on public transport.

Jihoon then responded to the person's comment in another video on TikTok, as she said: "The way I wish I knew this earlier because what the hell?"

She showed the red sores on her skin as she continued: "It's all overmy leg, and the other leg as well.

"And it's so fricking itchy!"

She's also been checking her bags and her clothes to make sure she doesn't "carry any of them home".

"Guys, be careful," she concluded.

"I took the Metro once, I was in jorts (longline shorts), and look at my legs."

"It feels like ppl are gonna end up carrying bed bugs back to other countries and we’re going to end up with a bed bug epidemic," one person commented on the video.

To which Jihoon replied: "I'm so scared of this.

"I had no more since I changed rooms, I think it happened in the metro.

"They’re everywhere here, it’s hard to avoid – stay safe."

"Wrap EVERYTHING you have in big plastic bags. Leave them for a few days and then wash them on HIGH heat," another suggested.

As a third commented: "I‘m going to Paris again in a few days and I‘m so anxious rn."

There's also been a warning issued to Brits over a bed bug explosion in the UK, after cases rose by 65 per cent year-on year.

The disgusting creatures can hide in many places around the home including bed frames, mattresses, furniture, clothing, behind pictures and under loose bits of wallpaper.

They are also thought to be becoming resistant to insecticides and pest control experts may need several visits to a property as treatments do not always work first time.

Jihoon offered an update in another video on her TikTok page, as she explained that she'd changed hotel rooms and informed the hotel but was told that there were no bugs found in her room.

However, she still believes she got the bugs from outside, as she has been in "Ubers and trains" to travel around Paris.

She also said that the other reason she thinks it happened on the Metro was because the bites were on her calves and nowhere else- which would make sense considering she was wearing long shorts.

"Just wish me luck and please pray for me that I don't carry them into my house," Jihoon concluded, adding that she'd checked over every single piece of her luggage before packing.
