I work in retail – a cheeky customer tried to pay with a stolen Wetherspoons dish, I was speechless | The Sun

A SHOP owner was left speechless after a customer tried to pay with a stolen Wetherspoons dish.

Luna Martin owns an antique and vintage store in Oban, Argyll and Bute.

She regularly shares her shopping hauls and retro finds for the store with her army of 42,000 TikTok followers – @lunahtic.

But she was stunned when one man tried to trade crockery nicked from Wetherspoons for some of her stock – and it still had food on it.

Posting on TikTok, Luna said: "So I can't quite get over this but it has just happened.

"I'm not judging, but I just want to tell you guys.

"So a guy has come in. He's a really nice guy, he always buys a lot in my shop.

"But he has come in and he had something in the side of his jacket.

"And he pulls out, you know Wetherspoons? You know the bowls that they serve curry in?

"He pulls out one of these bowls, still with curry around the side."

She added: "He goes 'can I trade you this for some brooches?'

"I'm like no, no you can't. I don't even know what I'd do with one of them. No.

"Anyway, I couldn't even believe it."

The retail boss's army of followers were loving the hilarious shop tale, with many replying with a crying with laughter emoji.

Meanwhile, another said: "Hahaha so funny."

We told earlier how another customer left Luna in tears with a surprise note stuck to her door.
