I'm 27 and still dress like a teenager – I've now got a corporate job but I’ll continue to wear crop tops to the office | The Sun

SHE'S 27 but still dresses like a teenager.

But now that Paige Boston has secured herself a corporate job, she's having to take a long, hard look at her style choices, and decide if anything she owns is appropriate to wear into the office.

"Is this an age appropriate outfit?" she began her TikTok video, showing herself in a black bikini top and bizarre trousers with cut outs on the hips.

"Recently I got my first big girl job – I got a job at a corporation," Paige explained.

"And it made me realise that I dress more like a pop star or maybe a teenage girl than an actual adult.

"As I was shopping for adult clothes, I’m like, ‘Adult clothes are so boring – I wanna wear cute little crop tops and leggings, I don’t want to wear grown up clothes.

Trolls say I don’t dress ‘appropriately’ but my outfits make me look younger

I got told my outfits aren’t work appropriate – I don’t get it

"But for the sake of my new job, I decided to challenge myself and go out into the world and try to find some adult, big girl clothes."

The first outfit Paige modelled was a cream knitted crop top and high-waisted pleated trousers.

"This is my first, more age appropriate outfit," she said.

"It’s still cropped but it’s neutrals which is an adult colour palette I think.

"And the pants have pleats in them which make it feel more grown up.

"It’s definitely not an office look but it’s definitely, I feel, like a 20-something-year-old outfit, right?"

Next, she tried on a cropped boxy black jacket and dress trousers, which she again said was more age appropriate but not so much something that she'd wear to work.

But with her third outfit, Paige said she had "actually done it".

The ensemble was a cropped beige T-shirt and a pair of loose grey trousers.

"I know there’s still the midriff but maybe I could pull the trousers up or add a blazer to it to make it a little bit more office appropriate," she said.

Concluding her video, Paige mused: " So adult clothes – clearly I’m still not very good at it.

"I definitely see myself improving, but if you guys have any recommendations for any cute, professional stores or outfit inspo, I would love to see it."

"All of your pants in the video were great! But the crop tops are good for weekends not in the office," one person commented on the video.

While another added: "Crops won't fly, I occasionally wear a cropped sweater but I wear a shirt underneath."

And someone else insisted: "Cropped tops are the furthest thing from office appropriate."

In a second part to the video, Paige modelled a black trouser suit with a white top – which had no midriff on show.

She also tried on a fitted black top with the grey trousers, as she declared it was her favourite, but still the only ensemble she actually liked out of all the ones she'd tried on.

"These are on the right track but honestly I think you just need longer shirts for the office," one person commented on the video.

As another suggested: "You could always wear a nice fitted dress with tights and a chunky cardigan, it would really suit you and most offices are super cold."
