YOU may be familiar with Revitalash and their award winning Eyelash Conditioner.
But there's another unsung hero in the range I can't get enough of – the Double Ended Volume Set.
- REVITALASH Double Ended Volume 2-in-1 primer and mascara, £35, from Selfridges – buy here
Revitalash's Double Ended Volume Set, which is also known as 2-in-1 Primer and Mascara, is available to buy online here for £35, and it's well worth investing in.
But why?
It's been a long while, maybe even over a decade, since I used any primer on my lashes – I'm looking at you MaxFactor (IYKYK).
Sometimes, in my former teenage years, I would leave only the blue primer on – after all, blue mascara was all the craze in 2004.
Fast forward almost 20 years, just when I thought I had mastered mascara application, and using the primer and mascara combo was well in my rear view mirror, and well, it's back, but I'm not mad about it.
Revitalash has won me over with the Eyelash Conditioner, and Eyebrow Conditioner, as well as the Micellar Water Lash Wash, so it was about time I tried the Double Ended Volume Set, which is a gamechanger.
Continuing Revitalash's ethos of creating products, which are gentle and not harmful for users, but also nourishing and promote healthy hair growth, while also accentuating your assets, the Double Ended Mascara delivers on all counts: lash lengthening, volumizing, lifting, nourishing and non clumpy.
The mascara does not contain any nasties, such as parabens, Phthalates, oil or gluten. Plus it is cruelty free.
The mascara is split into two – hence the name – with one half of the tube the primer, and the other the black mascara, which are to be applied in this order.
The primer and black mascara contain nourishing peptides and biotin, which condition the eyelashes, while also enhancing the hair health, to achieve longer, fuller, healthier, and more voluminous lashes.
When I first trialled the mascara I was blown away by the impact of the primer, which instantly lifted, and added volume to my lashes in just one sweep.
Once every lash was coated, I let it settle for a few seconds to avoid the "spider legs-like lash effect", and in fear of clumping.
However, after a few uses I've realised you don't even need to wait and can apply your mascara straight away, which is perfect for those in a rush to get out the door.
Then, it was time to apply the black mascara, and again, one sweep and my lashes appeared to triple in length, without clumping.
I repeat, without clumping.
The brushes vary on both sides, which I was sceptical at first as I am a dedicated silicone wand fan through and through.
Revitalash's design features a silicone brush for the primer end to separate your individual lashes and ensure even application, while the mascara end has an hourglass, spiral-like bristle brush.
Admittedly, I'd personally prefer both ends to be silicone shaped so the bristles do not clog in the future, not that they have with this mascara but with other labels, but that is just a personal preference and major preconception with bristle wands.
While one coat of the mascara is enough to cover the lashes, it is buildable, and you can add a few more coats for a more intense and dramatic look.
The best part is I've been asked by friends whether I'm wearing false lashes, which, let's face it, is one of the biggest compliments.
Plus, I haven't needed to curl my lashes before use, despite my eyelashes being quite straight, as this must-have naturally lifts them.
Thirdly, it is super simple to remove too; no scrubbing is needed, and one wipe of make-up remover, even warm water at times if I felt lazy, would remove this without being left with any black smudges or residue the next morning.
Revitalash's Double Ended Mascara has received my seal of approval, but other customers are also going head over heels for this creation with some hailing it the "best creation ever".
One happy shopper's review read: "Best mascara ever!!! 100 % recommend, it's expensive but works."
A separate fan wrote: "I am 72 and always had long lashes and often was asked if they were false, for quite a few years now they have been much shorter and I had lost some from the root by taking mascara off. I have been using Revitalash together with the the volume set for several months now and the comments have returned about them being false."
A third shared "Non clumpy! Easy to apply to individual lashes- gives a full long length look.Best mascara I’ve ever used and I’ve used a lot!!!"
