Richard Osman convinced Mock The Week could be SAVED after BBC axe – but there's a condition | The Sun

RICHARD Osman comes up with a way to watch Mock The Week episodes after BBC axe.

Pointless star took to Twitter to pay tribute to the hit comedy panel show's stars and creators.


He wrote: "Respect to Dan Patterson and @daraobriain and the gang for 17 years of #MockTheWeek, with ratings strong til the very end.

"The BBC is running out of money for these sorts of shows."

He gave a shout-out to host Dara and co-creator Dan Patterson.

But Richard is hopeful fans can still watch episodes once the show is axed from the BBC.

He added: "I would be shocked to my core if this doesn't end up on Dave though."

Dave is owned by UKTV which is a subsidiary of the BBC.

Fans couldn't agree more with Richard, as one said: "I really hope it goes to Dave, too good to stop the show."

Another penned: "I hope so! I’m getting withdrawal symptoms already."

A third pleaded: "@Davechannel pretty please."

Mock The Week 'to be saved' by rival channel after BBC axe it after 17 years

The cancellation of the show was confirmed on Tuesday when it wasannounced the programme will end this autumn after its 21st series.

The much-loved news show first aired in 2005 and has more than 200 episodes.

The BBC said: "The next series of Mock The Week will be the last, we are really proud of the show but after 21 series we have taken the difficult decision in order to create room for new shows.

"We would like to thank Angst Productions, host Dara O'Briain, panellist Hugh Dennis and all the guest comedians involved in the show across the 21 series."
