Despite voicing her concern, the bride said the foursome did not change their plan.

"They just said that they understand my decision not to have any bridesmaids but still insisted [on] wearing similar dresses, just to look like my bridesmaids," she explained.

The original poster detailed how she had asked a close friend to be maid of honor and was upset by her groom's friend's behavior as she isn't that close with them.

"I have friends attending the wedding to whom I am much closer with, and I would’ve preferred them to be my bridesmaids if I chose to have any," the bride said.

"I’ve told him not to as it might seem like I’m a bridezilla," the Reddit user explained.

She decided not to raise the issue with the four women, and instead resolved to inform the photographer of the situation.

"I just don’t want my photographer to assume that they are my bridesmaids and ask me to take photos with my 'as if' wedding party," the bride concluded.

Reddit users in the comment section to share their thoughts on the strange plan.

"It feels very mean girl-ish. Are they jealous he is engaged to someone who isn’t one of the four of them? It seems like a weird territorial thing," wrote one reader.

One person joked: "Hmm, this person has put a lot of time, money and effort into planning a special day to celebrate the beginning of their marriage. I wonder how I can make this about me?"
