I’m a cleaning expert and there’s 6 items you should never keep in your bedroom – or risk the room smelling | The Sun

FOR many, the bedroom is a place we go to at the end of a busy day to relax and unwind – so it's important to keep it smelling fresh.

But according to cleaning whizz Caroline, there are six common items that you should never keep in your bedroom for that very reason….because they can make it whiffy.

In a video, which was shared to TikTok (@neat.caroline), she begins by urging people to never keep "too many throw pillows" in their bedroom.

"This can discourage you from making the bed, so I like to keep them to a minimum," she explains.

Hands up if you're guilty of keeping a bin in your bedroom?

Moving on, the cleaning pro also recommends getting rid of clutter.

"When you have too much surface clutter, your mind has a harder time relaxing," she warns.

With an increasing number of people working from home amid the Covid-19 pandemic, chances are you've set up your own little workspace.

But the cleaning whizz points out that if you can avoid it, keep it in a different room because that will "encourage rest and relaxation."

Finally, she says to avoid having any mirrors facing your bed.

"According to feng shui, placing a mirror across from your bed can actually amplify negative energy," she explains.

"So consider some art instead."

The post has since gone viral, racking up over 78k views and several comments from social media users.

"Cries in studio apartment," joked one.

A second penned: "This was so spot on I can't even!!"

A third commented: "100 percent agree about the mirror!"

Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in: "Opppsss, I have done all those!! I can do some things. Thank you for sharing.
