THERE'S nothing more annoying than having to scrub stains out of your kids' uniform – how do they make such a mess?
But washing the entire thing everyday can quickly add up and takes up a lot of time.
If, like many of us, you want to cut back on the amount your use your washing machine in a bid to save some cash, fear not.
Paula Quazi, who is the founder of the cleaning brand Smol, revealed some of the best ways parents can clean school uniforms without having to put them in the washing machine.
She told Mirror.co.uk that there a few alternatives to keep in mind, like shaking out the clothes.
"When they get home from school, encourage your children to take off their uniforms and shake them out before hanging them up to air for the next day," she explained.

If you can hang them outside or by an open window that's even better, as it any smells will fade faster.
Another great way to freshen up uniform, and other clothes for that matter, is to hang them up in your bathroom after you've showered.
Paula said: "Steam is an easy way to freshen up previously worn items and this tip is also a great way to ensure no energy goes to waste!"
Before chucking dirty uniform into the machine, always inspect it to see if a quick spot clean will do the job.

The sooner you get to any marks or stains the better chance you have at removing them.
Paula recommended using cold water when spot cleaning, as " hot water will set the stain."
If you can't avoid giving the clothes a proper wash any longer, consider the settings on your washing machine.
"A bit of research to find the most efficient cycle for your machine could save you lots in the long run," she explained.
Not only that, but avoiding doing half-full loads will also help cut the costs.

According to the pro, "you should be able to fit a palm’s width between the top of your laundry and the inside of the drum.
"More space than the width of your palm then you know you’re not fully-loaded, any less and the washing won’t have room to clean", she said.
