I’m a cleaning whizz – three mopping hacks for grotty floors… and you'll be amazed how good they look | The Sun

A CLEANING whizz has shared her top three mopping hacks to keep the floors looking sparkling.

Taking to her social media account, she asked viewers: “Are your floors streaky or cloudy after cleaning?”

She then explained that if this is the case then your mop most likely has too much water on it, so you need to wring it out better before mopping.

And if your floors look cloudy, it means there’s too much product in the bucket itself.

“If you’re looking for a quick fix when you made a small spill,” she continued. “Keep a spray bottle of floor cleaner”.

As she said this, she placed a small label onto the spray bottle, ready for use.

She continued: “Simply spray the floor where you’ve made the mess and mop it up.

“No need to get out the large bucket during a party or a small spill anymore.”

Her third tip of the day was about laminate, LTV and real wood floors, which are all prone to “extreme scratching”.

She said: “Clean your floors with a microfiber mop,” as she demonstrated in the video.

“Of, if you don’t have one, try to swiffer hack. Grab a microfiber cloth and dip it in the cleaning solution.

“Wring it out, this will avoid excess water dripping on the floors, which can damage them.

“Grab your swiffer and attach the damp cloth to it just like you would if it was the pads, pressing them into the holes. Now, you have a makeshift microfiber mop.

“Then simply mop the solution into the floors and mop floors without scratching them. Chande the rag when necessary.”

She went on to share that she usually keeps between two and three rags in the bucket at a time so she can swap it out.

In the caption, she added: “Add Felt Furniture Pads to the bottom of ALL furniture.

“I do this on every piece of furniture we own, except those in the carpet bedroom. This protects WHATEVER kind of floor you have and also protects the wearing down of the furniture legs!”

People were quick to comment as one person wrote: “Thank you – great tips!!”
