A DERMATOLOGIST has claimed that she found an inexpensive pill that will stop you from aging.
She said that she has been taking the medication for 10 years.
TikToker Dr. Doris Day (@drdorisday) claimed that metformin will stop people from aging.
Metformin is used to treat people with type 2 diabetes, according to the Mayo Clinic. It can help lower blood sugar.
Metformin can also be used to treat PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), according to the National Library of Medicine.
Women with PCOS have increased resistance to insulin, according to the NLM.
Metformin is used as an "insulin-sensitizing agent" and "effective ovulation induction agent" for women with PCOS, per the NLM.
But Doris said there's an alternative way to use metformin.
"I’ve been taking metformin for about ten years now," she said.
"I recommend it for a lot (not all!) of my patients who are looking for anti-aging solutions," the dermatologist added.

In her video, Doris said metformin is the "anti-aging pill that costs pennies."
"So this is a medicine that's generic. It's been around for decades. It's not expensive to get," she said.
"While it's off-label, what we find is that it helps all your organ systems.
"Now, nothing replaces getting enough sleep, a healthy diet, and exercise.
"The more I study this drug, the more I think, this is truly as close to the panacea as we have to help against aging," she said.
But some commenters on the post who had taken metformin said they had bad side effects.
"It caused me terrible joint pain in fingers, knees, feet. Once I stopped I felt better," one person said.
"I started taking berberine and it does the same thing. Met for min has the worst side effects," another wrote.
