I’m a fashion expert – my three easy styling tips will make you look slimmer during fall | The Sun

FALL fashion doesn't have to mean constantly hiding your figure with oversized clothes.

An Instagrammer shared her top tips for looking slimmer this autumn.

Instagram user Kelly McCoyd shared the common three styling mistakes you might be making, and how to fix them.

For her first tip, the fashion expert discussed how to style boots with denim.

"If you’re going to tuck a skinny jean, make sure it’s a tonal tuck. The horizontal visual break between the gray and black is not flattering, and makes me look shorter," Kelly told viewers.

She explained: "The tonal tuck creates a single vertical visual line that is elongating."

The Instagrammer also emphasized the importance of balancing your silhouette to give your body shape, and avoid a boxy look.

She said: "Be sure to balance an outfit with tighter and looser fitting items for more dimension. If you have two looser fitting items, consider using a belt or tucking in the top to give shape and dimension."

"For a silhouette that adds to the overall balance and feels more updated and current, opt for a straight or wide leg denim," Kelly added.

For her final tip, the fashion pro recommended using the sandwich concept when choosing your handbag.

Wearing black jeans and a white shirt, Kelly demonstrated the styling method.

She explained: "Opting for the black bag creates cohesion between the top and bottom of the outfit."

"Using the sandwich concept, the black bag contrasts against the white top, but mirrors the black denim and booties. This is an easy concept to help create a well-balanced look," the influencer concluded.

Instagram users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the styling tips.

"Packing my boots for the next trip," commented one viewer.

Another person said: "I needed this one."
