FAST food fans were left fuming when McDonald’s announced that they would be upping the price of the 99p cheeseburger for the first time in 14 years.
As of Wednesday this week diners will have to fork out an additional 20p for their favourite patty, which may not seem steep but will quickly add up.
However, for those wanting to access a cheap cheesy fix we have the perfect solution.
In response to this price increase, the team at meal kit comparison site Meal Delivery Experts have calculated the price it would cost you to make your very own McDonald’s style cheeseburger for less than the original 99p price.
In fact the DIY burger will come in at just 68p per serving meaning that you can pocket 31p extra if you make your own, and is 51p less than the new price.
Using ingredients sourced from Aldi, the price of the individual components that make up the famous burger have been calculated based on the amount used in a singular serving.
