Given how close Kate, Princess of Wales, and her mother Carole Middleton are, it is expected that they have similar senses of style. During an outing together in 2019, the mother-daughter duo certainly demonstrated this.

The two decided to wear stunning jewels from the same brand to attend the King’s Cup sailing regatta.

Carole and Kate opted for Kiki McDonough jewels, one of their favourite jewellery designers.

Although pricey, the London-based business creates gorgeous fine jewellery that the Princess of Wales has worn for years.

The Princess donned her expensive, £2,300 “Lauren” pave diamond leaf earrings, while Carole opted for the £3,100 “Jemima” drop earrings.

Kate has owned her pair of earrings since 2015, and are still available to buy for that outstanding price.

Their description says: “Beautiful and elegant 18ct Yellow Gold and pave Diamond leaf motif drop earrings, inspired by the British ballerina Lauren Cuthbertson.”

A lot of people may mistake the earrings as being heart-shaped, but they’re actually in the shape of a leaf.

Unfortunately, Carole’s version of the Kiki McDonough earrings are no longer in stock.

Despite the more up-market jewels, both women wore considerably more laid-back clothing for the rest of their outfits back in 2019.

Carole sported a-chic Breton shirt and chinos while Kate looked ready to compete in her sporty shorts, cap, and jacket.

Kate arrived at the event earlier that day wearing her favourite Superga trainers, a striped Sandro top, and a pair of tailored L.K. Bennett trousers.

She wore her leaf-shaped earrings at that time as well, which looked equally stunning.

The regatta took place for Kate and Carole just after their lavish holiday in Mustique, where they celebrated Prince George’s sixth birthday at the time.

Therefore, both Kate and Carole had a noticeable summer tan at the event.

This was not the only time that Kate and Carole matched their jewellery choices together.

In June 2022, Carole attended the third day of Wimbledon wearing a blue topaz necklace from Kiki McDonough, one of Kate’s favourite jewellery designers.

Kate has sported the necklace numerous times in the past, making it an interesting choice for Carole.

During a trip to Germany in July 2017, the Princess was spotted wearing the brand’s white gold Eden Blue Topaz and Diamond Flower Necklace to meet with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke Buedenbender.

This necklace costs a whopping £1,500. Its description says: “The stunning Eden necklace features a Blue Topaz flower surrounded by pave set Diamonds in 18ct White Gold. This pretty necklace can be paired with the Eden flower gemstone earrings.

“Kiki’s gemstones are naturally occurring and have been carefully chosen for their exceptional quality. This means that the colour may vary slightly from the image shown.”
