A FOODIE has shared her lazy girls’ recipe to make her failsafe “fake carbonara”.
And while she said her Italian dish was super tasty, she asked for Italian chefs not to come after her as she knows it’s not the real deal – but still goes down a treat.
TikTok’s Filthy Little Snacks, aka @filthy_little_snacks, uploaded a video unveiling her step-by-step method for creating her favourite pasta dish.
She explained that it’s not done the Italian way as it doesn’t include eggs or pancetta – but that it’s her own take on the food loved by many.
The TikToker explained: “I’m going to share with you my fake carbonara sauce, so all the Italians out there, don’t come at me.”
She then revealed that it needs just a few ingredients – one heaped tablespoon of cream cheese, a flash of lemon juice, black pepper, garlic salt, parmesan and the all important pasta.

@filthy_little_snacks went on to lift the lid on the method, as she said: “While the pasta is bubbling away, I’m going to raid the herb garden.
“I’ve got sage and coriander, hardly any basil, and two garlic chives.
“Once that pasta is drained and al dente, add cream cheese, lemon, pepper, garlic salt and as much parmesan as you can muster,” she continued.
She then added the ingredients to a bowl one by one and gave them a firm stir

Once they were all mixed together and exclaimed: “And that is all there is to it.
“You can make this from start to finish in about 13/14 minutes.”
Once it was all served up and ready to be eaten, @filthy_little_snacks encourages others to add an extra helping of parmesan and add the garlic chives for a final touch.
“I’ll promise you – you’ll want to eat this again and again and again.”
Despite her protests, the social media user did have some comments from those saying it didn’t seem much like a carbonara, but that they’d tuck into it anyway.
One person wrote: “It looks more like an alternative Alfredo sauce (with cream cheese instead of butter) but looks yummy nonetheless.”
A second added: “Where’s the bacon?!”
Meanwhile others said it made the perfect lazy girl’s dinner when you need inspiration.
One TikToker wrote: “Cream cheese saves the day.”
